Why does anyone who is not a dyed in the wool Christian want intelligent design taught in the classroom.  All of the evidence leads to the conclusion that it is not a scientific theory.  Even a Court in the northeast decided that it was not scientific.

Christianity is already addressed in the classroom through the study of World History. It is not preached, but is related to itelligently through culture and a part of recorded history. Historians of biblical times documented numerous events that directly align with biblical claims. As for Intelligent Design, why is it a threat to explore possibilities with students? Isn't that what educators are supposed to do... teach students to consider alternatives, challenge the norm, explore possibilities? The "big bang" is simply a theory. Intelligent Design actually makes more sense than trying to explain that we all came about by an "accident." Perhaps exploring Intelligent Design might encourage our youth to hope that they actually have a purpose for being here, embrace some direction for their lives, and accept that we actually have a responsibility to care for the earth and other humans. If Intelligent Design is so false, why is it such a threat? Isn't that what Science is actually about... considering various hypotheses? Is is a threat because some students might actually begin to believe that it's true? Isn't that their perogavitve? Aren't we preparing our youth to face difficult choices and challenges? Not exploring Intelligent Design insults their intelligence.
