It is a historical fact that the original slaveowners in this country were Democrats. Washington, Jefferson and others who became President were slave owners. This is indisputable. These people were members of the Democratic-Republican Party. In 1832, they dropped the name "Republican" from their title and hence became the Democratic Party. The Republican Party was born in 1854 after the Whigs (a political party) just dissolved. The GOP was born out of either Ripon, Wisconsin or Battle Creek, Michigan. It was started on the anti-slavery platform and ran in its first election in 1854. They ran its first candidate for President in 1856, John C. Fremont and lost. Four years later Abraham Lincoln was elected and then re-elected in 1864 and hence the Republicans were a major political party. Because of Lincoln's efforts (The Civil War) and preservation of the union was achieved, it was then that blacks started to get more in this country. Republicans were responsible for passage of the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendements of the Constitution, over time they passed in short order the first three Civil Rights Bills in this nation. It was President Eisenhower who actually physically ordered that the armed forces be desegregated, were the ones who actually saved the day for President Johnson to get the Civil Rights Act of 1964 get passed, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to get passed. Without them it would have never passed muster. The Democrats were responsible for the following: They were the original slave owners, founded the KuKluxKlan, Jim Crow Laws, gave us the Income tax, were lynching blacks, Catholics and Jews since the Civil War until the 1960's, the only political party in our history to incarcerate a whole race of people in detention camps (Japanese-Americans during World War II, unleashed police dogs and fire hoses on blacks in the South during the Civil Rights movement during the 1960's, gave and encouraged blacks to collect welfare and breed more children out of wedlock starting in the 1940's to raise black populations, but really took off in the mid to late 1960's, initiated affirmative action, food stamps, welfare in massive amounts of tax money in lieu of actually trying to keep the two parent family the staple of the community, public housing. We now have in Detroit 80% or more of black children being born out of wedlock with many of the mothers not even bothering to put the father's name on their birth certificates. All this attitude and money being assessed on us through taxes ( enacted by Democratic Majority) to keep them down all under the leadership of Liberal Democrats and tax payers have been paying ever since. All Democrat social programs, the Great Society Programs are total failures and we are still paying. That's why I vote Republican and conservative. If anyone should pay reparations for black people's misery the Democrats should pay. But I don't hear anything from the RNC going to town on this issue. African-Americans don't realize that they (Liberal Democrats) are practicing wholesale the practice of "hand-me-down to keep-them-down mentality" instead of allowing them to thrive on their own. The Republican Party needs to get a couple between their legs or this will continue and they will allow these people (Liberal Democrats) to run roughshod all over them. Wake up Minorities, did Bill Clinton really do anything for you? NO
It is so easy to point the finger and blame, but it takes effort to get off of your BUTT and do something positive with your life. Stop looking for excuses and do something with your life!
Don't forgive this mayor for what he has done this time, he is just thumbing his nose at the citizens of the city. He has no integrity (look it up) and will do it again if left to slip away. Meet the new Teflon Mayor in the U.S. We don't care if he was cheating on his wife, that is for her to take action, but the lying under oath is a big deal. How many other times has he lied to the citizens? How can future business leaders trust his word and bring jobs to the city? I know I would have second thought if I was considering coming to the city to open up my business there. He has been surrounded by controversy and cover ups since he was elected. I believe someone committed murder of that dancer to cover up his lies. Remember, absolute power corupts, absolutely (11th grade social studies) it has proven to be right again. Detroiters deserve better instead of leaving and abandoning the city, kick his "hip-hop a@@ out on the street!
