Racers Began The Great Asthma Race, TODAY!

The Great Asthma Race 2008 kicked off today at Alameda Open Space in Albuquerque, NM. Their focus was to raise awareness about asthma, funds for asthma camp, and to have GREAT fun doing these two things!

Participants began The Great Asthma Race with a walk along the Bosque Trail. Some walked 3 miles and others walked 4! What a GREAT way to start! Participants were made aware of the MANY activities available to them - FREE OF CHARGE - for the duration of the Race. Excitement gathered and sparked interest for bystanders - one who eventually registered for the Race!

We would like to thank Sportz Outdoor for supporting the cause by setting up a bike check location for anyone who wanted this service.

Graphic Connection has supported these efforts by donating custom designed The Great Asthma Race t-shirts! They are beautiful! To get yours, gather up a team of 4 and COME RACE WITH US!

We would also like to thank Smith's for partially supplying the participant race bags. Inside the bags, participants received several goodies, a variety of Race activity passes, 1-week ABQ ride bus pass (Courtesy of The City of Albuquerque - Mayor Martin Chavez), listing of activities, and The Great Asthma Race passport/activity record sheet for the first leg of the Race..
