Aside from the good-natured people, the food was awesome. You could find anything from sweet corn to fish tacos. You may get queasy by the idea, but I have to tell you that the fish tacos were awesome! I would never have imagined. Everywhere else there was an assortment of booths to visit. One group called NOLS had a bus that ran entirely on solar energy and vegetable oil. They focus on encouraging children and teens to engage more in nature by teaching them to rock climb and how to survive in the wilderness. You could find cars that people modified to run on vegetable oil everywhere and information on how to do it. You could even register to vote.
Finally, the music! The groups performing provided great entertainment. Many carried messages of peace and love. Others to live your life. Others just wanted to sing and the people connected with this in a big way. With the combination of great music, good people, and the calming atmosphere of Taos, the Taos Music Festival made for a great weekend.
If you missed out, don’t worry! The Festival takes place every year and runs for three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). So if this type of event is your thing or you are interested in trying something new, mark this one on your calendar. Till next time….
