        I'm a huge fan of classical rock, always have been and always will be. One band in particular that I absolutely love is The Doors. The main reason I love this band is because of the long and complicated history behind Jim Morrison's life. I was personally captivated behind the mystery of his death. Even the movie by Oliver Stone captured his mysterious death in powerful way. Those of you who may know how he was found dead in a bathtub became a huge mystery since no autopsy was every done on his body and he was simply buried. I thought it was a great way for a rock star to go out...but then someone had to come along and ruin it for me.
        A friend of mine living in France sent me a book last year that claimed to know the truth behind Morrison's mysterious death.  The book was titled, The End -- Jim Morrison. It basically exposed how Jim, living in France at the time, actually died. The author tells about how he owned one of the hottest night clubs in Paris. This club was supposedly one of Morrison’s favorite spots to visit. The book went on to tell how Morrison had over dosed on drugs and was later found in the club's bathroom.  This was bad news to the owners since deaths within clubs had a tendency to destroy p.r. Therefore, the owner, along with some friends, secretly removed Morrison's body from the club and later placed his body in his bathtub at home. Those involved simply agreed to keep it a secret......for 36 years.
        For a man whose life  and death were shrouded in mystery, that affected me in a huge way. I think I might even be a little disappointed. That is one mystery I would have liked to remain a secret.
